Privacy Policy
Bearywell exists to notice when your day goes quiet — which means privacy is the whole product. This policy explains what we collect, what we deliberately never see, and who your information is shared with. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run your care circle, we don't sell data, and we don't run ads.
1. What We Never See
Bearywell's check-in detection uses Apple's Screen Time (Device Activity) framework. Apple's design means we never see what you do on your phone — not your apps, screens, messages, browsing, or location. The only thing our servers receive is a minimal signal that activity occurred (a timestamp and an event type), which is what lets us know your day looks normal.
2. What We Collect
- Account information. Your name, email address, and sign-in identifier (from Apple, Google, or email sign-in), plus an optional phone number.
- Care circle information. The people in your circle, the names you enter for invitees, relationships, and invitation status.
- Check-in signals. Timestamps of phone-activity events (see above), your monitoring schedule, check-in threshold, pause status, and timezone.
- Device information. Device platform, app version, and a push-notification token so alerts can reach you.
- Product usage events. Milestones like "onboarding completed" or "invite sent," recorded by our own systems — we do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
- Purchase status. If you buy Pro, our payment partner RevenueCat processes the App Store transaction and tells us your subscription status. We never see your card number.
- Feedback. Anything you write in the in-app feedback form.
3. How We Use It
To run the safety loop: detecting quiet days, prompting you, and alerting your chosen contacts; to sync your circle across devices; to provide support; to understand product usage in aggregate; and to meet legal obligations. That's it — no advertising, no selling or renting personal data, ever.
4. What Your Circle Sees
Sharing with your chosen people is the product. Trusted contacts in your circle can see your display name, whether your day looks normal, your last check-in time, your monitoring window, and alerts when your day goes quiet. They cannot see what you do on your phone — we don't have that ourselves.
5. Who We Share With
Only service providers that run the product for us: Convex (database and backend hosting), RevenueCat (subscription management), Apple and Google (sign-in and push notifications), Expo (push delivery), and Vercel (website hosting and anonymous site analytics). Each receives only what it needs to do its job. We would also disclose information if legally required.
6. Retention and Deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account any time from inside the app (Me » account settings); this permanently deletes your profile, circles you own, check-in signals, device records, invitations, and product-usage events. If you're a contact in someone else's circle, your link is removed but their circle stays intact. You can also email us to request deletion.
7. Children
Bearywell is not directed at children and accounts require you to be at least 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
8. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, stored with access controls by our hosting providers, and accessible only to the people running Bearywell. No system is perfectly secure, but we collect little enough that the blast radius of any incident is deliberately small.
9. Changes and Contact
If this policy changes materially, we'll tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Questions or requests: yoavlevanoni@outlook.com.
